"This fragrance is inspired by my travel to Turkey and the olfactory adventure I experienced while walking around vibrant and mystic Istanbul. The city is bursting with enticing scents at the corner of every street, and I wanted to encapsulate one of the facets of Istanbul and tell one of the many stories the city has to offer.
I was very lucky to visit Istanbul with a close turkish friend who offered to make me discover the city through culinary and olfactory experiences. One of my most vivid memories was the smell of hookah tobacco in the Ortaköy district, a very particular blend of warm opulent smoky notes interlaced with a cocktail of deep fruity notes, from juicy red berries to crisp notes of peach and apple.
I was also fascinated by the mouth-watering smell of turkish delights shops I encountered along the way. This famous delicacy was filling up the air with a delicious blend of rosewater, almond, dates, pistachios and bergamot, a scent that I will never forget.
By building a fragrance around these two very different facets, one truly dark and smoky, another one tremendously palatable and sweet, I wanted to depict Istanbul as a city in which I see beauty for its contrasts."
